Apator Control as the Project Leader in the 2nd edition of the GEKON Programme – Generator of Ecological Concepts
Apator Control Sp. z o.o. became the leader of the project entitled “Mobile medium voltage power system for ship supply from harbour waterfront as an element of ecological and economical gain of maritime transport” as part of the 2nd edition of the GEKON Programme competition (Generator of Ecological Concepts).
The project concerns the elaboration of a scalable S2SP (Shore to Ship Power) system consisting of a AC/DC substation, cable DC distribution system and mobile DC/AC terminals, localised on a waterfront depending on demands.
The mobile terminal will consist of an interchangeable switchgear, a matching transformer and a multilevel DC/AC power electronic converter. It will also feature the ability to auto-synchronise with ship electric grid and increase of S2SP system by means of parallel and series operating configurations. The aim of the elaborated system will be the reduction of costs of ship supply installations from harbour waterfront, reduction of acoustic noise and emission of harmful substances as well as energy costs in a sea port.
In June, there was a meeting of the Board of the Consortium related to the project, attended by: The Leader of Apator Control Sp. z o.o. Consortium and the Partners – Gdynia Maritime University, the Institute of Electrical Engineering in Warsaw, University of Zielona Góra and the Management Board of Morski Port Gdynia SA. During the meeting, Partners exchanged information about the progress of the project and its main goals.
