Concept
MoniTorus system is a modern power management tool for those who want to save money and analyse costs of utility services on an ongoing basis. The system indicates sensitive locations and points in the company, whose optimisation is required to reduce ongoing costs and plan future expenses.
The introduction of monitoring gives, e.g.:
- immediate, easy access to readings via a web browser
- ongoing analysis of the collected data – possible savings
- automatic failure notification system for technical services
- reporting possibilities
MoniTorus system is a tool which allows to carry out an energy audit in the company. It consists, among others, of NEO3 and NEO3 mini electricity meters which automatically communicate with data base containing a history of energy consumption, voltage, current, and power values. This allows to collect information which, through customised reports, enables conscious and rational power management.
System architecture
System elements
Electronic electricity meters:
- NEO 3 – static electricity meter for three-phase four-wire networks. Allows direct (NEO3tr) or indirect (NEO3atr) measurement of active and reactive energy switched by a built-in real-time clock. It is a universal meter for wide range of applications in the industrial energy management system.
- NEO 3 mini – static electricity meter for three-phase four-wire networks. Allows semidirect measurement of active and reactive energy switched by a built-in real-time clock. It is a universal meter for wide range of applications in the industrial energy management system.
Communication modules:
- GSM module connects to the system via GSM network and has an integrated GPRS modem. The module requires no configuration by the user.
- Ethernet module connects to the system via Ethernet network. In the case of DHCP (dynamic IP address assignment) via network to which the module is connected, the configuration is executed automatically. If DHCP is disabled, manual configuration of network parameters via any web browser is required.
Telemetric server
The main tasks of the telemetric system are to collect data from the read-out network.
Data is stored in the Central Data Base (CDB) from which they can be processed and analysed from web applications, as well as exported to other systems and [resented in the form of tables and diagrams. An important feature of the system in an on-line operation by which the user can analyse the network status and its power demand.
User Interface
Web application which allows monitoring, analysis, and control from any location, even dispersed facilities.
Available functions
- control (of contractual power, reactive power, illegal production, machine/line operation time, the use of machine park, implemented optimisation processes, electricity quality)
- determination of the actual production costs
- technological support
- energy purchase planning
- ability to compare the consumption of branches/departments/machines
- psychological factor
Requirements
Only a personal computer or notebook computer with regular access to the Internet is required.
The possibility to control and manage remote objects from anywhere.
Features and advantages
The possibility to settle payments of tenants with automatic reading of data for any period of time or any day of the month. ndependently conducted ongoing dynamic energy audit in the company over a long period of time (obtaining a complete, real picture of the energy management).
It gives the possibility to:
- consciously plan a demand based on actual data
- optimise ordered power
- reduce possible penalties for exceeding the active and reactive power through an automatic, continuous control of power, voltage, tg φ
- determine performance and efficiency indicators for production and production-supporting processes
- establish the precise cost of energy used to produce a product batch or cost incurred by the department, branch, tenants
We do not bear costs related to:
- the purchase and maintenance of measuring systems
- the purchase and maintenance of servers
- the purchase of software – AMR, AMM, Oracle, SQL, etc.
- the creation of (cable) transmission networks
- the implementation and start-up
- data transmission using GPRS
Due to the use of the "cloud application":
- own human resources are not unnecessarily involved in taking care of measurement data bases, servers, or the application
- the user gains access to new features of moniTorus as part of the package; the user can contribute to the creation of a new report type
An equipment transferred to the user is covered by a full guarantee for the entire duration of the agreement on the use of moniTorus. By using dedicated GPRS modem meters, there is no need to build costly cable networks or radio lines for remote reading of meters; data flows to the system approx. 2 minutes after installing the meter at the measuring point. The meter is not rigidly fixed to one measuring point. After measuring the facility A, it can be moved to facility B while retaining all data. MoniTorus has useful features for both technical and financial services, as well as management of the company.
